August 26, 2008 - Well with summer almost over we did manage to squeeze in a lot of weekend fun in between working on the house; going to the Buffalo Zoo, camping, festivals, pride parades, picnics, and camping. No plans for labor day weekend other than the public market on Saturday and the zoo in the afternoon with Jennifer and her boyfriend Mark.

We finished the landscaping, replacing the side door and touching up the paint this past week not to mention about a dozen other little jobs around the house and can’t believe what a difference the place has taken on, it looks real good now. Today they put up two for sale signs in the yard…YEAH! .

We went to Jonathan’s house this past Saturday afternoon for a party he was having. Had a great time. His house is a log cabin in Mt Morris with a ton of acreage that backs up to Letchworth state park, he also has a large pond with an island. Nick really enjoyed himself he got to play with the cat and Barley, the dog, he really liked the fish and frogs in the pond.

Yesterday Nicky told me his back hurt so I looked at him and said “hmmm, maybe your pregnant,” with all seriousness in his voice he looks at me while his hand is on his lower back and says “yeah that must be it, I’m pregnant.” I love that story it cracks me up.

I’m exhausted so time for bed, till we meet again…………

August 21, 2008 - Gymnastics is cancelled for the about four weeks, there was a crazy rain storm a couple weeks ago and the roof caved in on the facility so we were told that they will be back up and running for class on September 6.

Speaking of classes our classes’ start the first week in September as well, unfortunately we are on waiting lists for our classes because we signed up so late. I managed to find at least one that I could get in to and hope I can get into the other or else its back to the drawing board.

I can’t believe that summer is almost over; we have been so freakin’ busy working on the house before classes start that it went by without even getting to enjoy most of it. We are putting the house on the market in the next couple weeks. We want to move to a single family house in the suburbs (I shriek every time I say that word) with a small fenced yard and an excellent school district; so far we are looking at < ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />Brighton and Pittsford, both districts were rated extremely high throughout the country. We had to succumb to the realization that going to school, working full time, raising Nicky (and ourselves) that we wouldn’t have enough time our schedule to take care of two houses unless of course this house doesn’t sell then we have no choice. So long story short once this place sells we’ll begin our search for a new house.

This past weekend was my 44th birthday and we went up to Milgrove, Canada camping and had a very good time. It’s a gay campsite called Cedars Campgrounds situated on 138 acres; we spent the weekend hiking, and eating, and hiking and eating some more, it was really nice to be away from everything. This was Nicks first camping trip and he really seemed to enjoy it a ton, he met three new friends (Brittney, Aiden, and Noah) and got to play with them; baseball, bubbles, running and what not. We went swimming the first day but the water was like an ice tub and as much as Nicky begged to go back into the pool we refused to have our balls in our throats, we told him the pool was closed for cleaning. Every time we went to the store or the restaurant Nicky would throw up the charm and get free freezer pops or French fries…ahhh to reap the benefits of being young and cute.

Toasted marshmallows we’re probably my favorite meal on the trip they however weren’t Nick’s favorite, he preferred his “raw” and was very happy to put them on the stick and then eat them off as he toasted himself instead by the fire. Seeing how everything will be caught up probably this weekend we are contemplating if we want to go back camping for Labor Day weekend. We managed to find five gay campsites on the northeast coast that are kid friendly; three of which are in Canada
